Splunk .conf24 - Consist team wins security competition again

Kiel - One reason for this is probably Splunk's data monitoring and analysis expertise, which a global user community is constantly developing for the topics of observability and IT security. The largest user conference for Splunk offers an important platform for this. In addition to a large number of specialist presentations and best practices from companies such as IKEA and FedEx, more than 200 sessions at .conf24 enable the exchange of swarm knowledge on a wide range of issues.

Special Splunk expertise

One of these is the interactive workshop session by Martin Müller, Principal Consultant at Consist Software Solutions GmbH and Clara Merriman, from the Splunk Security Centre of Excellence. Their joint workshop on site in Las Vegas focussed on the efficiency of using Splunk. Using various use cases, the participants were shown how small optimisations, for example in the execution of searches and data models, can significantly reduce their total cost of ownership.

In a different format than the competition, the BOTS pursues the same goal of further developing the fast and effective use of the Splunk solution - in this case against sophisticated attack scenarios on a Security Operations Centre (SOC). The Consist team has already taken first place here several times, most recently in 2023 and 2017 - and now again in 2024.

Digital resilience

The more than 30 Splunk consultants at Consist share this in-depth knowledge about the use of Splunk big data technology in their day-to-day work on customer projects as well as in regular special interest groups and joint workshops. The next Splunk workshop is already scheduled for mid-July. Over two days at the company's headquarters in Kiel, the focus will be on the topic of machine learning and its further development in application scenarios. In order to further advance the digital resilience of companies, Splunk is focussing on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Splunk is expanding its AI solutions for faster detection, investigation and response in the areas of security and observability. Thanks to the agile, globally networked user community, this provides another strong counterbalance to the dark side of cyberspace.
